Checking your IFC Model:
Before uploading an IFC file, check it using an IFC viewer such as BIMcollab ZOOM, BIM Vision or open IFC Viewer. This will allow you to spot misconfigurations early on.
- Checking model structure: In the selection tree on the left side of the image, you can see the well-defined structure of an IFC. This consists of a hierarchical structure that shows Project>Site>Building>Floor>Object categories > objects. Use this structure as a guideline to check if your export resembles this. This ensures that objects are organized in floors as well as categories and ensures quick loading and visualization optimization.
- Checking base coordinates of multiple models: Ensure all Models are aligned / placed at the same position. In case model positions do not align, recheck the model base points, survey points and absolute coordinates of each point and ensure the export settings for each model is exactly the same.
